So I have to say that this Mother's Day is one of the best that I have ever had. My family went above and beyond to show me just how special I was to them. Being a mother is the best thing that I have ever done, and I am so blessed to have the children that I do, and the husband who chose me.
Mike and the kiddos gifted me with a necklace. And not just any necklace mind you, but one that had Catelyn's and Caleb's actual fingerprints engraved on it. It is by far one of the most special gifts that I have ever received. BY FAR. I have been told that this gift had been months in the making: one that required Mike getting the kids' fingerprinted in secret and having the completed necklace shipped elsewhere so I wouldn't accidentally be the one who signed for it. I still don't know how he pulled it off without me knowing about it! He even designed the charm himself! The company didn't have a design that he liked, so he helped them design the one that he wanted. That means I even have a piece of him with me when I wear this treasure.
Now I get to wear this necklace with pride, and I'm constantly finding myself fingering the precious indentions that lay right above my heart. A constant reminder that my children are always with me.
What a wonderful family I have been blesssed with. This truly was a "Mother's Day" for me -- a day to focus on the wonderful things that have made me the mother that I am.
A "happy belated Mother's Day" goes out to all of my role models -- my mom, mother-in-law, sister-in-laws, grandmother, stepmother, friends who are mothers.... You all are wonderful women who have influenced my own mothering. Thank you, and I love you!
